Shawmut recently completed Swedish brand The Cords & Co’s new flagship boutique in the SoHo neighborhood of New York City. With previous shops located in Stockholm, London, Paris, and Los Angeles, the latest outpost marks the brand’s first store on the East Coast of the United States. Vogue profiled the new 500-square-foot boutique and included photos taken by Shawmut’s own Joe Reed, a Marketing Specialist within the Retail division.

A fledgling brand, The Cords has an ambitious retail strategy. After opening shops in Stockholm, London, Paris, and Los Angeles, the company has just opened its first New York boutique at 160 Spring Street. (Tokyo is next.) Designed by the Swedish architectural firm In Praise of Shadows, the walls of the Soho shop were tagged with “love” by New York graffiti artist Curtis Kulig, with whom the company plans further projects, collaborations being an important part of the brand strategy.
