Boston, MA—May 7, 2008—Shawmut Design and Construction (www.shawmut.com), a leading national construction management firm, announces the promotion of William Sweeney to Project Executive and head of their recently opened New Haven office. Bill has been in the construction industry for 16 years and with Shawmut for six years. In his new role, he will utilize his breadth of knowledge to run Shawmut’s New Haven, CT office and continue to grow the southern New England client base. Bill has cultivated strong relationships while building extensive planning and technical knowledge throughout his tenure in the industry. Since joining Shawmut as a Project Superintendent, he has established a strong portfolio of experience. Recent projects Bill has completed include the Sculpture Building project at Yale University, Nantucket Whaling Museum, and restoration of the Touro Synagogue. He is currently overseeing the restoration and expansion of the Greenberg Conference Center on the Yale campus and the addition and renovation to the Early Childhood Center at the Pine Point School. Bill holds a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Rhode Island. Shawmut is known for delivering exceptional, personalized service to their clients.
