Shawmut's Lisa Cenotti Named "Woman on the Rise" by PWC

Cenotti receives prestigious award from the Connecticut Chapter of Professional Women in Construction

New Haven, Conn. – May 4, 2009 – Shawmut Design and Construction, a leading national construction management firm, is pleased to announce that Assistant Project Manager Lisa Cenotti recently received the 2009 "Woman On The Rise In The A/E/C Industry" award from the Connecticut Chapter of the Professional Women in Construction (PWC). PWC is committed to advancing professional, entrepreneurial and managerial opportunities for women and other "non-traditional" populations in construction and related industries. The award, meant to recognize Cenotti's accomplishments and contributions on the job site, identifies her as one of the future leaders of the construction industry.

Cenotti was nominated for the annual award by her peers, as well as New Jersey-based Greenwood Abatement Consultants, with whom she worked with on projects at Connecticut College. In her nomination, Marin Graure, president of Greenwood, stated that, "with over 20 years of experience in the environmental remediation and demolition industry, I could truly say that I have not worked with many individuals who possess the professionalism that Lisa exemplifies."

"The 'Women on the Rise' award is intended to honor exceptional women in the A/E/C industry who are recognized by their colleagues and others as future leaders in the industry," said Wendy Kennedy Venoit, president of the PWC Connecticut Chapter. "We received a number of nominations, but Lisa stood out to the selection committee."

Working out of Shawmut's North Haven office, Cenotti is currently helping to complete the Maurice R. Greenberg International Conference Center at Yale University designed by Robert A.M. Stern. Prior to her current work at Yale, she was an integral part of the Yale Sculpture Building project, which has achieved Platinum LEED® certification and much accolades as one of the AIA's Top 10 projects of 2008. She also had a significant role in projects at Connecticut College, Western Connecticut State University and Wesleyan University.
