Work Completed On One of Cape Cod's Most Prestigious Resorts
Chatham, MA-August 28, 2009 - Shawmut's Hospitality Group recently expanded the prominent 26 acre Wequassett Resort and Golf Club in Chatham, MA, helping to renovate and modernize one of Cape Cod's most prestigious resorts. This complex expansion included eight high-end rental villas, a children's center, a new sewage treatment plant, a 3,500 square foot receiving and storage facility, a new access road, and a tennis facility with clubhouse and retail store.
Wequassett was fully occupied until the start date and with only four months of construction in the dead of winter; the project team had to overcome significant scheduling obstacles to complete the assignment. Mark Novota, Managing Partner of Wequassett, candidly stated, "The adventure was at the same time enjoyable, challenging, and ultimately full of many rewards, especially the new friendships. The project's timely and successful completion was due to collaboration with all parties involved including the Waquassett staff, designer Polhemus Savery DaSilva (PSD), interior designer Wendy Bellavance Interiors, the landscape designer Hawk Design, the engineer Coastal Engineering, and a host of Shawmut's diligent subcontractors, many of whom were local to Cape Cod.
