Firm continues streak of being recognized four and six years in a row, respectively
Boston, MA – June 22, 2009 – Shawmut Design and Construction (www.shawmut.com), a leading national construction management firm, is proud to announce its second place showing in the Providence Business News and Best Companies Group's annual "Best Places to Work in Rhode Island" competition for 2009 in the medium sized company category. This is the fourth year that PBN has sponsored this program and Shawmut has made the list every year. Companies were judged on their responses to both an extensive management report as well as an employee survey. The resulting data were compiled by Best Companies, an independent research organization based in Harrisburg, PA, which then chose the winners. Shawmut was the only firm in the A/E/C industry to make the PBN list.
Furthermore, for the sixth consecutive year, Shawmut recently made the Boston Business Journal's list of the top 20 "Best Places to Work in Massachusetts" in the large firm category. This year, the Boston Business Journal chose winners from a pool of 387 nominations, the largest number in the competition's history. Companies were ranked based on extensive employee surveys, which included questions about work environment, job satisfaction, work-life balance, support and recognition of achievement, advancement opportunities, relationships with co-workers and supervisors, management compensation, and benefits. Shawmut was the only firm in the A/E/C industry to make the BBJ list in the large firm category.
