Providence, March 23, 2005–The Providence Business News and the Rhode Island State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) have chosen Shawmut Design and Construction as one of Rhode Island’s Best Places to Work. Headquartered in Boston with offices in Providence and New York, Shawmut is one of ten small and medium sized companies and six large companies chosen. Shawmut will receive its award in April at a celebratory luncheon where official rankings will be announced.
“Shawmut is extremely honored to be chosen as one of the Best Places to Work in Rhode Island,” said Bill Hughes, Shawmut’s Chief Operating Officer.
“A Best Places to Work award is especially significant,” said Susan L. Colantuono, past director of the Rhode Island State Council of SHRM, “because the rigorous competition includes not only an analysis of policies and practices but also an extensive employee survey.”
