PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Diverse, resilient teams deliver the best project outcomes for our partners.

We understand that to shape a more inclusive tomorrow we must invest in the communities in which we build. The Shawmut Diverse Partnerships Program enables economic, social, and community opportunity through strategic partnerships that strengthens and increases business opportunities for Underrepresented Business Enterprises (UBEs).

At our core, we’re committed to increasing participation of diverse vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to exceed project requirements or goals set by our partners and establish lasting partnerships that lead to knowledge-sharing, innovation, and long-term success. Not only is it the right thing to do, but supplier diversity brings diversity of people, ideas, and experiences to our projects—improving quality of work, strengthening the communities in which we build, and enabling an unparalleled experience for our clients.

BUILDING PARTNERS SERIES

Engage. Learn. Accelerate. Build.

Central to the Diverse Partnerships Program is our Building Partners Series—a 4-session, 8-course accelerator program specifically built for our trade partners and subcontractors, including minority business enterprises (MBEs), women business enterprises (WBEs), and veteran business enterprises (VBEs).

Led by a diverse set of subject matter experts from across our company, this program enables you to build capacity and absorb The Shawmut Way—including:

  • Learning the fundamentals of our construction processes and systems
  • Understanding our safety innovations and implementing a safety-first mindset across our jobsites
  • Integrating with our estimating, scheduling, and administration procedures

ADVOCACY ROTATION

Enabling opportunity for UBEs requires a multi-faceted approach that includes strategic partnership, mentorship, relationship-building, training, and collaboration. That’s why upon graduating from our Building Partners Series, companies are immediately enrolled into our advocacy rotation—which matches participants with executive and construction operations leadership to further develop the skills and experience to succeed.
