Shawmut welcomed partners and industry leaders in commercial real estate and design to the recently Shawmut-renovated The Peninsula New York at the luxury hotel’s rooftop bar, Pen Top. The appreciation event recognized the vital role partnerships have played as the firm grows its market share in large-scale, complex, and innovative projects across New York.
“We were delighted to welcome and thank our partners, whose trust and collaboration are integral to building spaces that educate, heal, inspire, entertain, and support our communities,” said David Margolius, Executive Vice President of Shawmut’s New York Metro region. “It was a great opportunity to reflect and celebrate all we’ve accomplished together, and look forward to the year ahead as we anticipate another significant growth year in 2025.”
The event was held at The Peninsula New York––a 140,000 square foot luxury 5-star hotel in midtown Manhattan, where Shawmut recently completed the renovation of 230 guestrooms and suites, along with public areas including the lobby and new rooftop bar.
The project is one of many Shawmut has completed or in progress in the market, including St. John’s University’s new St. Vincent Health Sciences Center, projects at Columbia University and NewYork–Presbyterian, Taconic Partners’ life sciences hub at the Hudson Research Center, Barclays Center Suite Level B renovation, upcoming Time and Tide at 360 Park Avenue South, and current renovation at New York Public Library’s Aguilar Branch.
