Shawmut transformed the Alumni Auditorium at Columbia University Irving Medical Center into a sophisticated, modern assembly space. The renovation introduced a bright and welcoming environment with high-end features such as curved ash millwork and a striking three-story glass façade. The project included a complete overhaul of the auditorium, adding new seating with charging stations and USB ports, enhanced acoustics, a state-of-the-art audiovisual system, and upgraded fire and sprinkler systems. The reimagined space now serves as a hub for innovation and collaboration, with the Schaefer Awards Gallery offering a light-filled, dynamic entrance.
