Four Twenty Five restaurant by world-renowned Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten is a two-level restaurant at the base of 425 Park Avenue. Highlights of the fit-out include the cocktail lounge with a 45-foot monolithic upper ceiling and a 1,000 square-foot show kitchen displaying a custom, 6,000-pound Molteni oven. A focal point of the space, the dining room lighting feature is made up of 231 individual custom-made light fixtures. The highest level of collaboration and coordination was required for this project—from the installation of the staircase that spans 45 feet and is 20 feet tall, connected only in two locations, to the BIM coordination for the upper ceiling, which required six trades with many different materials and utilities to create the monolithic ceiling with a quarter-inch tolerance over 5,200 square-feet within a building that’s not square.
