The New Eastern Standard
Boston, MA
The famed menswear retailer, which has dressed world leaders and style icons with custom fashions since 1976, selected Shawmut to fit-out its new flagship location on Rodeo Drive. The team meticulously removed, transported, and installed heritage elements from the original store, including the original entry door, grand chandelier, and antique armoires. Interior finishes include stone flooring, glass guardrails, and custom ornamental chandelier made of House of Bijan cologne bottles.
Building in an existing structure in a dense urban location required highly-complex structural upgrades, on top of the addition of a 670 square-foot mezzanine and two custom skylights, which was performed during off-hours for minimal disruption to neighboring businesses.
