Located in the Miami Design District, the restaurant comprises 3,400 square feet, with table seating for 20 and chef counter seating for 34. The LED-lit counter faces the open kitchen to enable guests to watch the chefs at work and a stone and glass vitrine display runs along the length of the restaurant. A key element to the experience, Shawmut aligned the wood counter with the soffit above so that each seat is matched with its own single light to showcase the food. Downstairs from L’Atelier is Le Jardinier, which contains 4,200 square feet and 108 seats, including 64 seats on an outdoor patio. Highlights of the design include a 17-seat marble “submarine” bar with large round porthole shelves for liquor and circular accent lights behind glass shelving, and the illuminated spiral staircase, which leads up to L’Atelier.
