Since 2004, Shawmut has completed close to 20 Nobu restaurants across the country for world-renowned chef and restaurateur, Nobu Matsuhisa. Each location that Shawmut has worked on boasts the high-end, custom finishes the brand has come to be known for, including its woods, from teak and ipe to white oak. Each project required location-specific considerations, from seismic and natural elements for Nobu Malibu, which sits directly over Carbon Beach; to working within a landmarked building and on a tight urban site at Nobu Downtown; to accounting for climate when procuring materials for Nobu Scottsdale.
