The Silver Lake Pool & Inn project, located in one of Los Angeles’ trendiest areas, consisted of transforming an existing apartment building into a 54- key hotel. The structure was also expanded to create a restaurant, Marco Polo, and patio space that is largely open air, topped with a new pool deck at the top floor. Shawmut worked closely with the owner and architect to pair the building department requirements with swift constructability in a tight space, including preserving a minimum portion of the existing building and not exceeding the existing floor area ratio (FAR) of the limited space.
This tenant improvement project in to a two-story building in Hollywood created a double-height space for creative offices. The project included significant parking improvements, hardscaping and landscaping, and the creation of ADA compliant restrooms.
