Shawmut completed multiple renovations within the world-renowned New York Palace. The scope included the main lobby and reception area, 50th and 51st street entryways, Grand lobby, Towers lobby, lobby lounge, Villard Michel Richard, Pomme Palais, Tavern on 51, Rarities, Trouble’s Trust, and common areas. The team installed finishes including Italian marble flooring, woodgrain paneling, metal and glass vitrines, mahogany millwork, and custom artwork. The Grand Lobby includes an 18-foot tall, custom chandelier made up of 2,100 glass bulbs. Villard Michel Richard was a dual-concept restaurant fit-out for Chef Michel Richard, consisting of a full kitchen, a 100-seat French bistro dining area, as well as a 46-seat ultra fine dining space called the Gallery. Working within such a high-profile neighborhood required that the project team and the jobsite stay nearly invisible during construction.
