The renovation of Arlington’s Gibbs Building transformed the historic 1928 structure into a modern 6th grade school, designed for flexible, tech-enabled learning. The high-ceilinged, open layout features adaptable classrooms, collaborative breakout spaces, and a versatile media center that accommodates group meetings, individual work, and a mezzanine for full-class gatherings.

The first floor includes a cafeteria, language and music classrooms, a theater space, and a tech lab, while the second and third floors house additional classrooms, a gymnasium, an art studio, and a digital media lab. Outdoor learning spaces, including a community garden and green space, were also added.

The project achieved LEED® Silver certification.
