The new Hardy Elementary School in Wellesley replaces a century-old facility with a cutting-edge, net-zero-ready building designed for grades K-5. This $72.5M project features a two-story layout with a gymnasium, media center, STEAM lab, and cafetorium on the first floor, alongside administration areas and three classroom clusters. The upper floor includes additional classrooms, music and art rooms, and specialized spaces for students with autism spectrum disorders. Outdoor enhancements include new playgrounds, a soccer field, and optimized traffic routes with ample parking.

Designed to support 365 students, the building is LEEDv4 Silver-certified and features an all-electric mechanical system with provisions for future photovoltaic panels. The project emphasizes sustainability and flexibility, providing a modern educational environment that aligns with the community’s long-term goals.
