Limani, a 200-seat Greek-Mediterranean restaurant, is the latest F&B offer at New York’s Rockefeller Center. Built by Shawmut Design and Construction, the locale occupies 8,000 sq. ft. on two levels and features interiors created by Skordas Design Studio’s principal, Yianni Skordas.
A 12-sq.-ft. by 3-ft. high white onyx-framed bubbling reflecting pool serves as the centerpiece of the design. A 6-ft. tall spiraling sculpture comprised of 250 nickel-finished fish is suspended from the ceiling above the pool. Other reflective elements, white marble floors and white tiles, surround the proscenium to the open kitchen. Custom-grooved sandstone walls and columns work with partitions of ceiling-hung brown cut-out fabric to carve out intimate zones.
