Putting the team’s skills to practice, Shawmut partnered with Interior Design magazine to build its “The Light Within” exhibit for the 21st Annual Dining by Design event hosted by the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA). DIFFA raises awareness and grants funds to organizations that provide treatment, direct care services, preventive education programs and advocacy for individuals impacted by HIV/AIDS. The Dining by Design event—held at Pier 92 in New York—invites local and international designers to create a showcase of over-the-top dining environments as a fundraiser for the cause.
Shawmut’s Luxury Homes division was thrilled to partner with Interior Design and its editor-in-chief and DIFFA chairman, Cindy Allen, to participate in the event, which raised more than $700,000 for DIFFA’s grant-making efforts.
More than 10,000 guests walked through the exhibit throughout the weekend in March, which concluded with a gala attended by Shawmut CEO Les Hiscoe, vice president of Luxury Homes Billy Pisani, director of business development – Luxury Homes Eric McLaughlin, and senior manager – purchasing Ben Grandjean.
To bring Interior Design’s vision to life, Shawmut project manager Celeste Segui-Fabryk oversaw the project, working with:
- Formica for materials
- PixelLab for the floor and wall graphics
- Eclipse for carpentry and materials
- Tatco for millwork fabrication and delivery
- Caruso for paint and wall finishes
- Liffey for transport and removals
- Starlite for logistics support
This is Shawmut’s first year partnering with Interior Design for the cause, but last year the Retail division partnered with Gensler to create Knoll’s exhibit.
