MIAMI, FL – What one word perfectly reflects the partnership between one of the country’s most acclaimed builders and one of the world’s most prestigious watchmakers? Precision.
We all know that TAG Heuer is not your typical watchmaker. So it’s no surprise it chose Shawmut to build its anything-but-typical petite boutique in Miami’s Design District.
Shawmut is no stranger to working in the highly sought-after—and highly challenging—Miami hotspot. After working in the area for years, and recently completing projects for Givenchy and Panerai, we opened our first Miami office on Biscayne Boulevard—further establishing our commitment to the city. It’s precisely because of our local ties and our experience with complex projects that TAG Heuer selected us. Leveraging our familiarity with working in the Design District, we mediated challenges that included limited access and off-hours work through extensive coordination with surrounding projects.
The Shawmut team delivered a space that truly reflects the beauty and craftsmanship of TAG Heuer’s famous timepieces—a point reinforced by the store’s dramatic 14’ tall ceilings and entryway with full view glass doors that vertically retract into hidden pockets.
Other features include Venetian plaster with two floating vitrines complete with perimeter LEDs around the “hot spot area,” custom fabric-covered panels that drop from the ceiling, and gorgeous gray stone flooring that features custom-loomed red carpet inlay—no detail was overlooked. The result is a store that promises to bring shoppers back—time and time again.
